I loved Despicable Me when I saw it at the movies. And on Monday - just in time for half term this must-see family animation is released on high-definition Blu-ray (triple play), DVD and in spectacular stereoscopic Blu-ray 3D.

I actually have no idea what stereoscopic Blu-ray 3D is but boy does it sound good?! 


It's also available for legal digital download from iTunes and Amazon on the same date, which is great if you live in the sticks like I do.

Despicable me is a modern version of the classic 'baddie comes good' story that's packed full of laughs from start to end.

Bald, black coated Gru (Steve Carrell) dreams of becoming the World’s Greatest Villain but he's no match for his wimpy, nerd nemesis Vector who out-villains him and steals the shrink gun he was going to use to steal the moon. But Gru has a cunning plan to get it back. A plan that involves adopting three totally cute orphan girls who  change his life forever.

Packed with great characters that include Russell Brand as the mad scientist, Julie Andrews as Gru’s miserable, nagging mother and the irresistible bright yellow cheese puff shaped Minions.

My girls have been modelling since they were very small babies, they've worked for some huge brands including Nokia, Halfords, Asda, Annabel Karmel, Joules, Adams and NEXT and with this fab new baby model comp that NEXT are running your little one could become a star too.

The NEXT Baby Boutique Model Competition, in association with Prima Baby magazine is looking for the UK's cutest and most photogenic babies and toddlers to star in a forthcoming photoshoot for NEXT and Prima Baby. The winners will also bag a modelling contract with leading children's agency Urban Angels and £500 worth of NEXT vouchers.

There are two categories, birth to 18months and 19 to 36 months - so if you have a beautiful little one - and I know that lots of you do, head over to the NEXT Facebook page for full details on how to enter.

The winning child will also receive a one year contract with leading children’s model agency Bizzykidz and a selection of Prince Lionheart goodies.

They are looking for bright, beautiful and lively children who are outgoing and love being in front of a camera. So if you think your baby has what it takes, is aged between 2 and 4 years on the closing date of 10/04/10 and you live in the UK, please visit their Facebook group for details.

The big Miffy giveaway

I've always loved Miffy - though not with the same slightly odd passion that fuelled my Hello Kitty phase. I cherished a Miffy book when I was a child - I loved the bright colours and the simplicity. I carried that book everywhere I went for months. It had been taped together so many times when I was finally convinced to lay it to rest.
