Blogladesh the countdown...

In less than a week we will be heading off on our journey - the reality of exactly what we are about to do has now gripped me.
A couple of hours ago I clicked on a Save the Children video on You Tube and since then have been scouring the channel for every mention of Bangladesh's children.
In one video I saw a tiny three year old boy fighting to take a single breath . He was so small that he would have passed for a baby. I don't mind admitting that I am terrified.
The cell network is good in Bangladesh we are told, so please do stop by our blogs and follow our tweets and if you haven't already done so then please, please, please sign our petition.
Please do watch this Save the Children Video, what they are doing is awesome.

  1. Am completely in awe of what lies ahead for you all. Am looking forward to the stories of hope and good that will be coming back from your side to counter-act all the sadness.

  2. Yep. Keeps hitting me too. We're going to be fine though. Someone said something really helpful to me today, and that's to focus on the solutions we're seeing, the positivity and potential for change, on the HOPE, rather than on the problems.

And I'll be there holding your hand :-)

  3. We'll all be reading and rooting for you. Take it all in, write everything down, capture all the images you can -- we're all waiting to hear about the good work you're doing. I think it's going to be an amazing experience.

  4. I would be paralysed with fear - I do not believe I have the emotional strength to undertake anything like what you guys are doing - I am full of admiration and yes, a bit of fear on your behalf. You'll be taking us all out of our comfort zones with you - I believe we have a duty to look and bear witness to suffering if we are to eradicate it in any measure and you are doing this on behalf of many. Oh bloody hell I'm not being very comforting am I? What can I say? It will be a unique and profound experience I am sure. This is up there on the life changing list isn't it?

  5. Maggie, What can I say - you have this amazing gift of projecting your warmth and love right across the Channel. I am SO happy that I met you, wandering around like a lost alcoholic (me not you.... well both of us really). Your support is amazing.

    Yes, thanks then!

    Josie,
Just promise not to look at me - and I will promise not to look at you and then we might be OK. I have 36 packets of tissues packed in my suitcase.
    xx

    Aletha,
We are simply the messengers - it's what you people do back home that makes change happen. xx

    Heidi,
There are currently just over 10,000 signatures on the petition. We still have a long way to go.

  11. I have read many articles and news where I get to know people loss their dear ones life just for few bucks. And at that time I feel quite helpless. I wish we can help each of them.. But yes we can at least try to help few of them.
